Where is the good Chinese food in Myrtle Beach? China Buffet is the best I've found. It's not bad, but I'm looking for something even better.

No answers. There really won't be any good Chinese food in Myrtle Beach until people realize the rice should be brown and not yellow. I took a photo of my Chinese food in Boston to show to a friend who owns a local Chinese restaruant so that I could explain what I meant.

Update: May 2, 2009.PF Chang's is open. I went there and wasn't impressed, but I am a very picky eater. The food was good, but not my style. Hubby liked it. Here is a good comment from Mary (Thanks, Mary!):

I have lived all over, Orlando, NYC (best 2 yrs of chinese in my life), DC, Boca, Charlotte, Biloxi... Outside of Chin's in Mamaranak NY (forgive the spelling) this is the best chinese food.  It's also a chain.  I usually don't eat at chains, but make an exception for PF Chang\'s.  When I lived in Boca you could expect a 2 hour wait even at 10:00 at night on a weekend just to sit down.

Favorite dishes:

  • Wonton soup (bits of chicken, baby spinach, baby shrimp, and water chestnuts in a light broth make it perfect in any weather)
  • Chang's chicken lettuce wrap Mongolian Beef Sesame Chicken lemon pepper shrimp
  • Dessert are all good but Great wall of Chocolate, Bannana Spring Rolls are outstanding

Why can't you find no smoking restaurants in myrtle beach?

Well, I think it's because we're in Tobacco Land. Honestly, I've not gone back to restaurants that are too smokey. Surfside has a smoking ban.

What is the name of the hamaburger restaurants that had the peanuts all over the table & floors ? are they still in business?

UPDATED (4/1/2008): After I posted a previous answer, my husband said "RIVER CITY CAFE!" I then got an email from someone (thank you!) who also said River City Cafe, so River City Cafe it is! I haven't been in a few months, so I haven't tried the new menu. I agree with him or her. I don't mind Joe's Hamburgers, but I can't stand getting one little burger on a plate, then another thing of fries on another little plate, etc, etc... Everything tasted fine, but the food delivery to me was annoying.

The tip I received also had some helpful information: "The Burger rest with the peanuts is River City Cafe..Great burgers but with a little higher price & a new menu...Steer clear of Joes Hamburgers, overpriced & small... "

My favorite burger place, Five Guys (located by Costco [Myrtle Beach] and now at the Tanger Outlets by HWY 22) has the peanut thing going and they have great burgers, but they are relatively new to the area. There used to be one across from Coastal Carolina University, but they moved it to the Tanger Outlets. That broke my heart! I went to the CCU location probably every other week. Now I don't get there as often unless I'm hungry before a Costco trip.

On April 8, 2008, I received another tip - Logan's Roadhouse. I remember eating there. It's been a while, but the food is good.
