adminI'm a picky eater. I'll say that I am not a good person to ask opinions on seafood restaurants and other stuff I hate. Being from Boston, MA (I used to work on the Boston Fish Pier), most people can't believe I hate fish. My hubby likes seafood, so I ask his opinion when we eat out. Here are my favs:

  • Chinese: I have YET to find any Chinese I like. No, China Buffet doesn't cut it, though I suppose it's as good as you can get around here. I'll have to try PF Chang's.
  • Italian: Old World Italian or Chianti South
I keep hearing that there are lots of good Italian restaurants. I really haven't found any like in the North End of Boston. I can make a lot of home-made Italian, so it's tough to find something GREAT. Some pretty good ones are Rossi's or Carrabba's. But I would put Olive Garden in the same mix. Villa Romano is not so bad, but I haven't eaten there in years. I hate Angelo's Steak and Pasta. Let me just put that bluntly :)
  • Japanese: Yamato's (Broadway at the Beach)
Yes, I like Yamato's over Myabi and if you have two hours, I'll tell you why.
  • Mexian: El Patio (the one on 501 in Conway)
You'll hear debate over El Patio and El Cerro Grande. Some people like Burro Loco's, too.

I put this restaurant site together because I wanted a place to find where to eat. Even though there are thousands of restaurants on the Grand Strand, I probably eat at a handful more than twice. I hope that I find some other places to eat through the opinions posted on this and other sites.

This site is a hobby, so I don't have all of the time and energy to put together everything I want right now. I have coded some back-end items, but I don't have the time to do the data entry. Right now, I'm busying teaching my college freshmen and working on my dissertation. I'm always open to suggestions, though, so feel free to contact me. I am on a computer about 15 hours a day, so if it's a quick fix or addition, I'll be glad to do it.

Since this is not a commercial site or anything, I don't compete in any way. If you don't find what you're looking for, try some other restaurant sites:

Why are there Sponsored Ads? I was hoping to help fund some of the costs behind the site. I've not made enough to host the site, but that's okay, too. I'll keep this site going with or without ads. It's funny. Myrtle Beach Eats also spells Myrtle Be A Cheat, so before I tweaked the ads, I was getting some interesting links!!!

I hope you enjoy the site!
